My second dinner at Schwarzreiter - and it proved as good as the first attempt. Schwarzreiter Tagesbar is the Bistro concept in the Vier Jahreszeiten and a great option on the days in which a full on gourmet dinner would be too much. Since I am a regular in the hotel, it will not have been the last time I popped down for dinner here.
Service is efficient and very cordial which is great if you need a break from the stiff atmosphere that still reigns in the restaurant of many 5 Star hotels. To start, you are served a tiny little warm and homemade bread with 'Obatzda', a Bavarian cheese speciality. Wine choices by the glass are leaning towards German varieties which are well selected and worth a try if you are not familiar with them.
After struggling with a full size Schnitzel on my last visit, I went for a small serving this time which was just about right and left room for dessert.
There is a regularly changing Risotto option on the menu, which was confirmed to be excellent by my dining partner.
An excellent chocolate brownie to end an overall excellent dining experience.
