Overlooking Lake Tegern from a privileged position, this restaurant has been popular for decades and continues to deliver high quality Bavarian as well as modern European fare.
In summer, there is a sunny terrasse, while in winter the different wood panelled areas provide a cozy atmosphere. At our most recen visit we were able to enjoy the Christmas decorations.
We started with mushroom broth with game strudel, a somewhat more upmarket version of the traditional dumpling soup, which was rich and warming after the snowy arrival we had.
For mains we selected the deer with brussels sprouts and spaetzle and the duck with potato dumplings and red cabbage respectively. Both were very nice, but for your first visit I would strongly suggest the duck, which is always the most popular dish.
