I have always been passionate about travel - every airport is the starting point of a new 'adventure'. London has 5 of them, so it was the obvious choice to make home, which I did 8 years ago. Adventure? Well, kind of - I do not own a backpack, being more of a designer bag and heels kind of girl. Exploring new places just always gets me excited, rarely you'd find me in the same restaurant twice on a trip. I have a 'proper' job, Jetsettista is only something I do on the side, often while waiting for the next flight at the airport. Therefore updates take a bit longer, but everything is guaranteed to be independent! My work gets me around Europe a lot, shopping in Milan or dinner in Paris are nice and regular side effects. And while at the airport, why not just throw in a little weekend away afterwards: I love beaches in summer, discovering new places in cities I thought I knew already and - in winter - skiing is a must! My kind of travelling is seeking the special, the hidden little villas and hotel gems or fancy new restaurants, some might be luxurious but that is not the end in itself, I always prefer the place that has the right vibe - and view - to counting Michelin Stars. All my reviews objectively reflect my experience, I will not sugarcoat things that went wrong. However the objective of this blog is to recommend places that I enjoyed instead of critizising those I didn't like, therefore I will generally put up mainly places I'd like to come back to. Coming into the room I found the new iprefer hotel guide which has about the same effect on me as a decent Christmas present. I got absorbed in the discovery of new places to explore and completely forgot that all of Paris was waiting for me to be enjoyed outside of the door.
Lets admit it, travelling and travel planning are my things, while others are browsing shoes or handbags, I will be hunting for that new restaurant with 'that view' in some faraway country I haven't even booked a trip to yet. With friends taking notes when I talk about new hotel discoveries and colleagues just following me to wherever I think we could have a dinner, its time to be more organized about this and share the places I like so join me on my journey - through Europe and occasionally beyond.
I stay at the Castille a lot when I am in Paris, it's right next to Chanel (not sure how happy my credit card is about that...) and I love the breakfast, sitting there enjoying pommes au four (try them!) and croissants with the lovely Millet jam while reading le Figaro, the perfect start of a day in Paris.
