Casa Piedra was a lucky find on our first day on the island. After some sightseeing in town we had decided to find a lunch spot with a more quaint atmosphere and we were driving along the southern coast of the island to find the right place.
From the outside, it was not obvious that Casa Piedra would become the most gourmet worthy experience of our stay on Ibiza, but my research did show some very interesting dishes and we decided to try it out. Casa Piedra has a garden in the rear, which is cosy and shady but I would recommend to book ahead as it is quite small. We decided to go for shared dishes so we could try out more different options. But first we were welcomed with a little amuse gueule
We then continued with a very unusual interpretation of the classic tomato mozzarella, which came as a buffalo mozzarella on a bed of tomato emulsion.
The main was a lovely ragout of different fishes, quite large so we were happy to share this and keep some room for dessert.
The dessert was a variation of chocolate, and while looking very impressive, it probably was the least impressive for our taste buds. While textures differed, they seemed a bit to milky/sugary and lacked the depth that other dishes showed
The bill ended up to be extremely affordable given the quality of the dishes and there is also a lunch menu during the week which looks excellent value.
