After launching jetsettista, my life has changed - well, it changed a bit let's say. Stumbling out of a meeting and crashing to the next available cafe ordering an average sandwich is a level of laziness that does not fit in with the challenge to experience new places anymore.
So, I researched, booked a table and purposefully strolled through town for 20 min to get to Kleinschmecker, a small but sophisticated restaurant at Sebastiansplatz close to Viktualienmarkt.
At lunch, it was not very busy, but at dinner I would strongly recommend to book ahead. There is a very good value 2 course lunch menu and daily pasta and risotto choices, in the evenings , it is more elaborate cuisine.
I chose a Burrata with smoked mirabels and bitter salad as a starter which was amazing - I will feel sorry the next time I have average tasting Tomato & Mozzarella at home.
As a main, I decided to try the pasta of the day, which came with a creamy sauce with speck, tomato and spinach and was surprisingly good sized - too the extent that dessert could not happen....
Brilliant little restaurant, I feel I have opted for choices that could not display the full potential of the chef and I will make sure to be more adventurous on my next visit.
