After staying in chain business hotels on my last 2 trips to Copenhagen - and being thoroughly annoyed by their standard, I tried something new this time. Absalon is a small, recently renovated hotel in a central location close to the station. It is very close to the red light district, but even as a girl travelling alone I felt reasonably safe.
The room and bathroom are very new and impeccable, with a consistent design scheme throughout. I asked for a bathrobe which arrived promptly.
On the ground floor, there is the reception surrounded by a comfy lounge style area which allows you to relax after work and have a drink. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but they offer Pizza delivery from a very good service.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent, all products seemed artisan or organic, I particularly liked the poppy rolls and the Danish cooked ham. You had to pay extra to get a cappuccino which was a bit annoying, but at least the quality was top class
